Accompsett Middle School Projects & Events
March 2014 - Mrs. McDermott and Mrs. DeLuca collaborated on a project where students were asked to research an influential person. After conducting their research, students were asked to present their information in a multimedia format. Their choices were a wesbite, PowerPoint video, movie or Prezi. Once the presentations were complete and uploaded to the Internet, students created a QR code for their project and printed out a portrait of their person along with the QR code. Finally, all students came together for a "Museum Walk" in the library. Ten tables were set up with three portraits at each table. Each student was given an iPad and rotated through the tables to view another classmate's project by scanning the QR code. Students were required to take notes on 4 to 5 additional individuals via the museum walk. The project was a great success and students enjoyed the process and learned many new and relevant skills.
January 2014 - Author, Todd Strasser, visits the AMS Library and gives the students a workshop on creative writing.
